The MACWM Board of Directors has developed a Strategic Vision and Development Plan for the film and digital media industry in West Michigan, that was presented on Friday, November 15, 2013 in the auditorium of the Compass College of Cinematic Arts, 41 Sheldon Blvd., Grand Rapids.
The hour-long presentation began at 12:30pm, with a Q & A session afterward.
How The Plan Was Developed
The Media Arts Coalition of West Michigan conducted a series of focus groups during 2013. They met with three primary groups that make up the regional film and digital production industry: Creative content producers, vendors, and educators. Focus group members were asked to share their experiences and perspectives about the current state of the film and digital production industry, particularly concentrating on the impact of Michigan’s film and digital media incentives program.
After analysis and discussion of focus group input, MACWM board members generated a plan for growing film projects and production companies in West Michigan based on actions independent of state agency initiatives.
The MACWM Strategic Vision and Development Plan will continue to be shared and promoted to West Michigan legislators and industry leaders throughout t 2014. Your Feedback is welcome.
